COUNTERMEASURES is the debut EP by Naarm/Melbourne techno duo 6 SENSE, boasting 4 massive tracks that discover unexplored horizons in the new wave's exploration of pounding yet playful rave techno. A product of the recent pandemic, the palette of this release bears intensity and catharsis after the city's maddening 2 year lockdowns that took away the golden years of the city's youth. High speeds and booming kicks that force involuntary movement can be found in abundance here, creating the perfect sonic space for ravers to decide: go hard or go home. Trust us, no one ever wants to go home after hearing this.

Title track and EP opener COUNTERMEASURES establishes the modus operandi of the release with high speed, thumping kicks, repeating synths and excited vocals that raise the blood pressure. Well-rinsed among Melbourne's new wave techno scene, lead single FAKIN' THE FUNK is the duo's grooviest offering that boasts a memorable synth line and vocal hook without compromising their signature speed and power. 6 SENSE shows bravery in experimentation with the innovative KEEP IT RAW (K.I.R), featuring chopped big band samples against thunderous kicks that become fully realised during the wildest of club antics. EP closer MIC C0NTROL shows the duo at their fastest and most euphoric, with frantic vocals over a dreamy repeating chord that beg to be sung from the largest soundsystem available.
